As we continue to grow, we are looking for a disciplined, dependable, and detail-oriented Store Keeper who will play a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring uninterrupted production through efficient store operations.
Position Summary
The Store Keeper will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the garment store, ensuring accurate inventory records, proper storage of materials, timely issue of materials to production, and complete accountability for stock movement.
The ideal candidate should have prior experience in the garment or textile industry, possess strong organizational skills, and understand the importance of inventory accuracy in a manufacturing environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesInventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory of fabrics, trims, accessories, packaging materials, labels, tags, and other raw materials.
- Ensure all inward and outward stock movements are recorded accurately and promptly.
- Verify quantities and quality of incoming materials against purchase orders and delivery challans.
- Maintain real-time stock updates in the inventory register and ERP system.
Material Issue & Production Support
- Issue fabrics, trims, and accessories to production against authorized material requisitions.
- Coordinate with Production, Merchandising, and Purchase teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Monitor stock consumption and report unusual variances or excessive wastage.
- Ensure production departments receive the correct materials in the required quantities.
Stock Control & Audits
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly physical stock verification.
- Perform stock reconciliation and investigate inventory discrepancies.
- Support internal and external inventory audits.
- Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy and accountability.
Store Operations
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, stacking, and identification of all materials.
- Maintain FIFO (First In, First Out) wherever applicable.
- Keep the store clean, organized, and safe at all times.
- Ensure proper handling of sensitive materials to prevent damage or deterioration.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain inward registers, outward registers, stock ledgers, and inventory records.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports.
- Report slow-moving, excess, obsolete, or low-stock materials to management.
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and compliance.
Coordination
- Work closely with the Purchase, Merchandising, Production, and Accounts teams.
- Follow up on pending deliveries and communicate inventory shortages in advance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management and store operations.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience as a Store Keeper in the garment, apparel, textile, or fashion manufacturing industry.
- Good understanding of fabrics, trims, accessories, packaging materials, and garment production processes.
- Experience handling inventory for a manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using inventory software or ERP systems will be an advantage.
