About the Role
Mortgage Bazaar, UK is seeking a customer-focused and results-driven Mortgage Adviser to provide expert mortgage and protection advice to clients across the UK. The successful candidate will manage the mortgage process from initial consultation through to completion while ensuring compliance with UK regulatory standards and delivering an outstanding customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise customers on suitable residential, buy-to-let, remortgage, and specialist mortgage products.
- Conduct affordability and eligibility assessments.
- Understand customers financial circumstances and recommend appropriate mortgage solutions.
- Manage the complete mortgage application process from enquiry to completion.
- Liaise with lenders, solicitors, estate agents, valuers, and underwriters.
- Collect and verify all required documentation.
- Keep clients informed throughout the mortgage journey.
- Recommend suitable protection products such as life insurance, critical illness cover, and income protection where appropriate.
- Ensure all advice and documentation comply with UK FCA regulations and company compliance standards.
- Achieve monthly sales and customer service targets while maintaining high-quality advice.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- UK mortgage qualification such as CeMAP (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice) qualification or equivalent, CII (Certificate in Insurance) is essential.
- Proven experience in UK mortgage advisory, mortgage processing, or the financial services sector, with a strong understanding of lending criteria.
- Demonstrated expertise in advising first-time buyers, remortgage clients, buy-to-let investors, and self-employed applicants.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and objection-handling skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently while effectively managing a high-volume client pipeline.
- Excellent attention to detail, with strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Proficient in using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Good understanding of FCA regulations and compliance requirements is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
