Position Description: The Personnel Manager is responsible for the effective staffing of assigned vessels in compliance with Flag, Class, and other mandatory or prescribed requirements as they relate to fleet personnel. This position works with other departments to ensure competency, supports engagement and retention of sea staff, and manages assigned fleet personnel group of shore employees.
Job Responsibilities:
Is familiar with the Health, Safety, Environmental Protection and Quality Policy (PL-005), and understands the responsibilities under the Environmental Management System (EMS). In keeping with this and other compliance policies, they understand their duty to report any environmental noncompliance and/or concern to their manager or members of the senior management team (including the highest level of management) either directly or through the open reporting system as per Management System guidelines
Identifies training needs of ship staff, assesses, and makes recommendations regarding promotion, and participates in Officer Forums and roadshows
Works with Fleet Team, Training, Marine Services, Financial Reporting and other teams to ensure deliverables are met and provides guidance and support
