Roles and Responsibilities:
Ø Hospital security officers are responsible for continuously monitoring security systems, to detect any suspicious activity or security threats.
Ø They conduct regular patrols of the hospital premises, which includes parking lots, entrances and restricted areas, ensuring that all areas remain secure and safe.
Ø Security officers are trained to respond promptly to emergencies, such as medical incidents, fires.
Ø They ensure that only authorized individuals have access to restricted areas by monitoring visitor flow, verifying identification and controlling entry points to prevent unauthorized access.
Ø When conflicts arise, security officers are expected to use de-escalation techniques to manage aggressive or disruptive behavior from patients, visitors or staff, aiming to prevent violence and keep the peace.
Ø Ensure that all information are accurately recorded and submitted to hospital management.
Ø Preventing theft and vandalism is a key responsibility, where security officers work to deter such activities by maintaining a visible presence and reporting suspicious behavior to appropriate authorities.
Ø Hospital security officers assist in maintaining a safe environment for both patients and staff, especially in potentially dangerous or high-risk situations, ensuring everyone’s well-being.
Ø Ensure that all actions taken are well co-ordinated for maximum safety and efficiency.
Ø In addition to their primary security responsibilities, security officers may also assist with other tasks as required.
