We're looking for an experienced Senior Database Engineer to join our engineering team on a remote contract, working directly with UK-based engineering teams during UK shift hours.

Key Skills Required:
- 5+ years of experience as a Database Engineer
- Strong expertise in MySQL (InnoDB, Transactions, Locking, Query Optimization)
- Hands-on experience with AWS RDS (MySQL)
- SQL Performance Tuning & Schema Design
- Database Performance Optimization
- AWS CloudWatch & Performance Insights
- Database Migration & Version Upgrades
- Understanding of Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JDBC
- Experience identifying and resolving database, infrastructure, and application-level performance bottlenecks
- Exposure to AWS DynamoDB is a plus
