Safety Officer – Interior Site
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Safety Officer to oversee health and safety practices at our interior fit-out/construction site. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment, implementing safety procedures, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with applicable safety standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor daily site activities and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
- Ensure workers use appropriate PPE and follow safe working practices.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness training.
- Prepare and maintain safety reports, inspection checklists, and incident records.
- Monitor work permits and ensure proper safety precautions before starting high-risk activities.
- Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, contractors, and workers on safety matters.
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safe storage of materials, tools, and equipment.
- Support emergency preparedness and ensure fire safety and evacuation procedures are followed.
- Ensure compliance with applicable occupational health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree or relevant certification in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Relevant experience as a Safety Officer in interior fit-out, construction, or similar sites.
- Good knowledge of site safety practices, PPE, work permits, fire safety, and risk assessment.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to identify hazards and take prompt corrective action.
- Relevant safety certifications will be an advantage.
