We are a start-up based out of Bengaluru & Delhi NCR. We are engaged in development of next generation missions and technologies (NGM&T) towards future warfare needs of the Indian defense forces. It is undertaking research towards enhancing persistence and autonomy for unmanned vehicles and robotic swarms. NRT’s product development portfolio includes a solar power stratospheric high altitude pseudo satellite (HAPS) unmanned platform and an air/ground launched stand-off autonomous system.
Job Description:
UAV Test Pilot is responsible for testing the production RPAS and qualify them based on the delivery requirements. Candidates should have sufficient knowledge on engineering of UAVs, handle safe drone flying with industry standard practices and be able to execute field jobs with minimum supervision.
Responsibilities and Duties
Execute UAV flight operations in accordance with NRT procedures- Coordinates in ground and flight operations efforts to include; planning, execution,
briefing, debriefing, and safety
- Perform preflight checks to assure mission readiness
- Maintain daily pre and post- flight and inspection activity logs
- Adhere to established outlined safety policies and procedures
- Assuring all equipment is; integrated, maintained, inspected
- Perform minor integration and maintenance on the aircraft
- Collaborate with coworkers on projects
- Assist with general office duties
- Perform related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities
Basic knowledge of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle- Must be familiar with flying fixed-wing electric and knowledge on IC engine powered UAV platforms of various sizes and be able to learn to fly the platform(s) developed at NewSpace Research & Technologies.
- Must have experience in flying UAVs up to 10kg MTOW class
- Must have experience in flying UAVs which are hand and catapult launched
- Knowledge of all applicable regulations and policies governing UAV
- Ability to work with flexible schedule during peak periods
- Ability to understand the flight parameters and assess the quality of the Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS)
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and diagnose UAV systems
- Demonstrated ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures and Safety protocols
- Good judgment with the ability to react quickly to hazards
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Ability to work in teams in various work environments
- Acclimate to the current team culture
- Attention to detail and good analytical skills

Additional Desired Experience (Preferred):
Knowledge of different Flight Control Unit (FCU) operations, troubleshooting and
integration
- Knowledge of Ground control Station (GCS) software and capable of planning flight missions based on test requirements
- Basic knowledge of IC engine tuning
Qualifications: B.E / B. Tech or any relevant degree
