About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Head to lead and accelerate the growth of our SME and Business Lending portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Banking or NBFC operations and a proven track record in business development, channel management, portfolio growth, and credit-driven lending businesses.
The role requires strategic leadership to drive business expansion, build and manage sourcing channels, strengthen customer relationships, and ensure sustainable portfolio growth while maintaining asset quality and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Strategy
· Develop and execute growth strategies for SME lending and business loan products.
· Drive acquisition and expansion of secured and unsecured business loan portfolios.
· Identify new markets, customer segments, and distribution opportunities.
· Achieve targets relating to disbursements, revenue, profitability, and portfolio growth.
· Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
Channel & Relationship Management
- Build and manage relationships with DSAs, connectors, brokers, and strategic partners.
- Develop strong relationships with SME customers and industry associations.
- Expand sourcing channels to improve business volumes.
Credit & Portfolio Management
· Collaborate with Credit, Risk and Operations teams to ensure efficient loan processing.
· Monitor portfolio quality and maintain acceptable risk standards.
· Support portfolio monitoring, collections, and recovery initiatives to ensure healthy asset performance.
· Ensure prudent lending practices and portfolio sustainability.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
· Promote ethical business conduct and customer-centric practices.
· Strengthen governance and risk management frameworks across business operations.
Desired Candidate Profile
Educational Qualification
- Graduate in any discipline.
- MBA or equivalent qualification preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Banking, NBFC, or Financial Services.
- At least 5 years in a leadership role handling SME lending, Secured or unsecured business loans.
- Strong understanding of secured and unsecured business lending products.
Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in SME Loans, Business Loans, Working Capital Finance, and LAP.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent relationship management and negotiation abilities.
- Sound understanding of credit assessment and lending processes.
- Strategic thinking with strong execution capabilities.
