Overview
The Alternative Investments Business Analyst (BA) partners with Product Managers, Product Owners, and other BAs to help transform and scale the solution suite. The BA will translate business objectives into well-formed backlog items, ensure shared understanding across onshore and offshore development and QA teams, and uphold delivery quality through strong requirements discipline, data insights, and ceremony support.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, experienced in supporting multiple priorities, and understands modern software delivery practices including Agile methodologies, backlog management, requirements engineering, continuous improvement, release planning, and stakeholder collaboration. You will help turn business needs into actionable requirements and support effective delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for business requirements gathering, functional design, providing support of user acceptance testing, and project implementation. This position will interact with all levels of the organization to ensure timely completion with the highest degree of quality for industry, regulatory, and client initiatives. Core responsibilities will include:

Gather user requirements from external/internal clients via User Requirements Documentation and/or end-user interviews

Participate in project estimation process

Build relationships with various external and internal stakeholders

Along with stakeholders and technical development staff, create functional design documents based upon user requirements

Work with QA/QE to create a strong test plan to ensure project quality

Validate that completed work meets Definition of Done (acceptance criteria satisfied; code reviewed; unit/integration tests passed; security checks; documentation updated; feature toggles; deployment notes, etc.).

Support UAT and post-release monitoring; analyze defects and usage outcomes to drive backlog improvements.

Report project status to stakeholders as well as project management or senior executives
Your Experience:

6-8 years of professional experience in a Business Analysis role, preferably in financial services.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Business, or a related field.

Experience in writing client facing documents such as scope documents, functional documents, use cases as well as Acceptance criteria is preferred.

Able to understand and communicate simple to somewhat involved technical concepts.

Excellent analytical problem solving, organization, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Willing to learn and adopt new technologies.

Able to work autonomously and in teams, excited by new technologies and industry initiatives, and will never back down from the challenges of scale.

Experience building successful client and internal team relationships.
