Job Title: Embedded Device Tester
Location: Mindspace, Malad, Mumbai
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Embedded Device Tester to validate the functionality, reliability, performance, and quality of embedded hardware and software systems.The ideal candidate will have experience in testing embedded devices, executing test plans, identifying and troubleshooting defects, validating firmware and hardware, and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality product releases.
Key Responsibilities
1. Test Planning & Execution
- Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test procedures for embedded devices.
- Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and performance testing.
- Validate embedded hardware and firmware against product specifications and requirements.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage across different product features and functionalities.
2. Embedded Hardware & Firmware Validation
- Test and validate embedded devices, hardware components, and firmware.
- Support hardware bring-up and prototype validation activities.
- Verify firmware upgrades, bootloader functionality, and device recovery processes.
- Conduct stress, endurance, reliability, and environmental testing.
- Validate power management and battery-operated device functionality, where applicable.
3. Communication Protocol & Interface Testing
- Test and validate communication interfaces and protocols, including:
- UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, USB, Ethernet, BLE, Wi-Fi
- Troubleshoot communication and connectivity-related issues.
4. Defect Identification & Debugging
- Identify, document, reproduce, and track defects using defect management tools.
- Analyze system logs and test results to identify the root cause of issues.
- Use hardware debugging and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot system-level problems.
- Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and software engineers to resolve identified issues.
5. Test Automation & Documentation
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts wherever applicable.
- Prepare detailed test reports and maintain accurate testing documentation.
- Document test results, defects, observations, and validation outcomes.
- Contribute to improving testing processes, methodologies, and automation coverage.
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Professional Experience
- 0–3 years of experience in embedded systems, embedded device testing, or a related field.
- Experience in testing embedded hardware and firmware.
- Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers and embedded platforms.
Embedded Systems & Software Skills
- Strong understanding of embedded device testing and firmware validation.
- Knowledge of functional, integration, system, regression, and performance testing.
- Basic knowledge of C/C++.
- Proficiency in Python, Shell scripting, or similar scripting languages for test automation.
- Familiarity with Embedded Linux and/or RTOS such as:
- FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX, Other relevant RTOS platforms
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
Hardware & Debugging Tools
Hands-on experience with the following tools will be an advantage:
- Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Multimeter, JTAG / SWD Debuggers, Serial Terminals such as PuTTY or Tera Term, Protocol Analyzers, Other hardware diagnostic and debugging tools
Preferred Skills & Experience
Candidates with experience in the following areas will be preferred:
- IoT devices or smart connected products.
- Wireless technologies such as:
- BLE, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, LoRa, NFC
- Test automation frameworks.
- CI/CD pipelines for automated testing.
- Manufacturing or production testing.
- Power management and battery-operated devices.
- Device security testing.
- OTA (Over-the-Air) update validation.
- Automated embedded testing and continuous integration environments.

Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
