Senior Collibra DIP SME Location India Employment Type Contract Overview We are seeking a Senior Collibra Subject Matter Expert (SME) to serve as the go-to technical authority for our Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud platform and enterprise data governance capabilities. This role sits at the intersection of data governance, metadata management, platform integration, and business enablement, partnering with engineering, data, architecture, and business teams to drive scalable governance practices and trusted data usage across the organization. The successful candidate will lead Collibra solution design, governance workflow implementation, metadata integration, and stewardship enablement across a modern enterprise data landscape. This role requires strong Collibra platform expertise, sound architectural judgment, and the ability to translate governance requirements into practical, scalable operating models and technical solutions. Position Summary The Senior Collibra Subject Matter Expert will be responsible for designing, configuring, and optimizing Collibra based governance solutions, including business glossary, data catalog, lineage, stewardship, policy management, and metadata integration capabilities. This role is hands-on and delivery-focused, with ownership spanning Collibra platform configuration, workflow enablement, operating model alignment, integration design, and governance process maturity. The SME will work closely with data owners, stewards, architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure Collibra is deployed as an effective system of record for data governance and metadata management. The ideal candidate brings deep experience with Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud, strong understanding of governance operating models, and the ability to enable adoption across both technical and non-technical teams. What You'll Do
- Serve as the primary technical expert on Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud and enterprise data governance capabilities.
- Design and implement governance workflows supporting stewardship, policy management, issue resolution, and metadata lifecycle management.
- Configure and maintain Collibra domains, communities, asset types, relationships, and governance structures aligned to the Collibra Operating Model.
- Build and enhance Business Glossary, Data Catalog, Data Lineage, and Impact Analysis capabilities across enterprise data domains.
- Support stewardship processes, policy enforcement, and governance operating standards across business and technology teams.
- Integrate data quality insights with Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud to improve trust, accountability, and governance visibility.
- Design and support metadata ingestion, synchronization, and integration patterns across upstream and downstream systems.
- Build integrations using REST APIs, JSON, XML, and Collibra DIB / Integration / Edge / Connect capabilities.
- Automate governance workflows and metadata operations using Collibra-native tools and platform features.
- Partner with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate governance requirements into scalable Collibra solutions.
- Collaborate with Azure data platform teams across ADF, ADLS, and Synapse environments to align governance with cloud data architecture.
- Provide technical mentorship and platform enablement to stewards, analysts, and cross-functional teams using Collibra. Key Skillsets Must-Haves
- 10+ years of experience in data governance, metadata management, or enterprise data platforms, including hands-on experience with Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud (DIC).
- Deep expertise in data governance workflows, business glossary, data catalog, data lineage, impact analysis, and policy/stewardship management.
- Strong experience configuring domains, communities, asset types, relationships, and related Collibra platform objects.
- Strong understanding of the Collibra Operating Model and how to operationalize governance roles, responsibilities, and processes.
- Experience integrating data quality insights with Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud to support governance outcomes.
- Hands-on experience with Collibra DIB, Integration, Edge, or Connect capabilities.
- Experience building integrations using REST APIs, JSON, and XML.
- Proven ability to support metadata ingestion, synchronization, and workflow automation across systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across business, governance, engineering, and architecture stakeholders.
- Ability to operate effectively in complex enterprise data environments with multiple source systems and governance requirements. Nice-to-Haves
- Collibra certifications such as Collibra Ranger, Collibra Steward, or Collibra Expert (Architect level).
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), and Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Basic understanding of data pipelines and cloud-based data architecture.
- Python experience for scripting, automation, data processing, transformation, and API integrations.
- Exposure to Python libraries such as Pandas and Requests.
- Experience in regulated industries where governance, lineage, policy, and stewardship controls are critical.
- Familiarity with enterprise data quality, metadata management, and cloud modernization initiatives. Success Looks Like First 90 Days
- Ramp quickly into the current Collibra environment, governance model, and key enterprise data domains.
- Assess existing platform configuration, metadata coverage, governance workflows, and stewardship processes.
- Build trusted working relationships with data stewards, governance leads, engineering teams, architects, and business stakeholders.
- Identify high-value opportunities to improve catalog adoption, lineage visibility, metadata quality, and governance workflow efficiency.
- Contribute meaningfully to one or more active Collibra configuration, integration, or governance initiatives. First 12 Months
- Strengthen Collibra platform capabilities across glossary, catalog, lineage, stewardship, workflow, and policy management.
- Improve metadata consistency, governance transparency, and stewardship operating effectiveness across enterprise data assets.
- Deliver scalable integration patterns supporting metadata ingestion and synchronization across key systems.
- Expand adoption of Collibra-driven governance processes across business and technical teams.
- Improve platform maturity through reusable standards, workflow automation, documentation, and operating discipline.
- Operate as the trusted senior Collibra authority across governance design, platform delivery, integration, and continuous improvement. Interview Process Technical interviews will focus on Collibra platform expertise, governance workflow design, metadata management, lineage and catalog capabilities, integration patterns, operating model alignment, and the ability to translate governance requirements into scalable enterprise solutions.
