Job Summary
The Art Teacher is responsible for nurturing creativity, artistic expression, and aesthetic appreciation among students in alignment with the CBSE curriculum. The role involves designing and delivering engaging art lessons, fostering creative thinking, developing students' artistic skills, and creating opportunities for participation in exhibitions, competitions, and other co-curricular activities that contribute to students' holistic development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging art lessons in accordance with the CBSE curriculum and school policies.
- Teach a variety of visual art forms, including drawing, painting, sketching, craft, sculpture, and mixed media.
- Encourage creativity, imagination, critical thinking, and self-expression through diverse artistic activities.
- Assess, evaluate, and document students' progress using age-appropriate and competency-based assessment methods.
- Maintain student portfolios, artwork records, and assessment documentation.
- Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and innovative art projects that enhance learning outcomes.
- Organize and coordinate art exhibitions, workshops, competitions, and creative displays within the school.
- Prepare and mentor students for inter-school, district, state, and national-level art competitions and events.
- Ensure the proper use, storage, maintenance, and safety of art materials, equipment, and classroom resources.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages artistic exploration and respects individual differences.
- Collaborate with teachers across disciplines to integrate art into classroom learning and interdisciplinary projects.
- Support class teachers in classroom decoration, display boards, and creating engaging learning environments that align with academic themes and school standards.
- Take responsibility for the planning, design, decoration, and readiness of school premises for annual functions, celebrations, exhibitions, assemblies, and other school events.
- Serve as the Event Decoration In-charge, overseeing the conceptualization, execution, and maintenance of stage décor, venue aesthetics, thematic displays, and event-related creative installations.
- Coordinate with school staff, student committees, and vendors (where applicable) to ensure timely completion of decoration work for all school functions and special occasions.
- Participate actively in school functions, assemblies, parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, professional development programmes, and other institutional responsibilities assigned by the school.
- Stay updated with CBSE guidelines, emerging teaching methodologies, and current trends in visual arts to enhance classroom practices.
- Promote discipline, ethical values, environmental awareness, and responsible use of school resources while encouraging students' overall personal and creative development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts (BFA) or equivalent.
- B.Ed. from a recognized institution (preferred or as per CBSE norms).
Experience
- 2–5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE or reputed school preferred.
- Freshers with strong artistic skills and teaching aptitude may also apply.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
