A Pharmacist is responsible for preparing, dispensing, and reviewing medications to ensure safe and effective use. They provide expert advice on prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, and general health concerns while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy and safety
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and interactions
- ⚠ Monitor patient drug therapies and provide recommendations
- Maintain patient records and pharmacy documentation
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and pharmacy laws
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Manage inventory and order pharmaceutical supplies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy
Education & Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
- Valid state/provincial pharmacist license
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology and medical terminology
- Continuing education as required by regulatory bodies
