- A Junior Clerk Typist is an entry-level administrative professional responsible for managing general office operations, data entry, and document drafting. They support senior staff by ensuring files are organized, correspondence is typed accurately, and daily clerical duties run smoothly.
- Key Responsibilities
- Document Processing: Typing, formatting, and proofreading official letters, memos, notices, and reports.
- Data Entry: Accurately inputting numerical and alphabetical data into office databases, spreadsheets, or specialized management systems.
- Record Keeping & Filing: Maintaining both physical and digital filing systems, indexing documents, and ensuring records are easily retrievable.
- Office Communication: Answering incoming phone calls, responding to emails, and directing inquiries to the appropriate departments.
- General Administration: Operating office equipment (copiers, printers, scanners), sorting mail, and assisting with basic inventory or supply ordering.
- Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Typically requires a High School Diploma (12th standard) or equivalent from a recognized board.
- Typing Proficiency: High typing speed and accuracy (often measured in Words Per Minute) with knowledge of specific regional or global languages.
- Software Skills: Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet software like Microsoft Word, Excel, or Google Workspace.
