Debt Recovery officer Roles & Responsibility
Job Description
1) Contacting Debtors: Debt recovery officers initiate contact with debtors to negotiate payment plans or full settlements. They may communicate via phone calls, letters, emails, or in-person visits.
2)Investigating Debtor Profiles: They research and analyze debtor profiles to understand their financial situation, payment history, and ability to repay debts.
3)Negotiating Payment Arrangements: Debt recovery officers negotiate payment terms and arrangements with debtors, aiming to secure timely repayments or settlements.
4)Advising on Financial Matters: They may provide advice and guidance to debtors on managing their finances effectively to meet their debt obligations.
5)Maintaining Records: Keeping detailed and accurate records of all communications, payment agreements, and debt recovery activities is crucial for legal and administrative purposes.
6)Legal Compliance: Debt recovery officers ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing debt collection practices, such as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) in the United States.
7)Skip Tracing: They may perform skip tracing techniques to locate debtors who have changed their contact information or are difficult to reach.
8)Collaboration: Working closely with legal teams, credit controllers, and other professionals within the organization to escalate cases as needed and to ensure effective debt recovery.
9)Reporting: Providing regular reports to management on the status of debt recovery efforts, including successes, challenges, and potential risks.
10)Customer Service: Despite the challenging nature of their role, debt recovery officers often maintain professionalism and empathy in their interactions with debtors, striving to achieve a positive outcome for both parties.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Bengaluru Urban District, Karnataka: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
