We are looking for a skilled, empathetic, and experienced Counsellor to support the mental health and emotional well-being of adult students at our higher education institution. This is a part-time role requiring availability for 3 days per week.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in adult counselling, strong professional maturity, and the ability to work effectively with adult learners in an academic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counselling to adult students facing academic, emotional, personal, or behavioural concerns.
- Support adult learners experiencing stress, anxiety, adjustment challenges, and emotional difficulties.
- Conduct workshops on mental health, emotional resilience, stress management, and life skills.
- Collaborate with faculty and academic teams to support student well-being.
- Maintain accurate and confidential counselling records and reports.
- Refer students to specialised professionals or services when required.
- Provide empathetic and professional support to adult learners while maintaining appropriate ethical and professional boundaries.
Eligibility
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Social Work.
- 5+ years of professional experience in adult counselling preferred.
- Certification in counselling or psychotherapy, such as CBT, will be an advantage.
- Prior experience working with adult learners or in a higher education institution is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and counselling skills.
- Preference may be given to candidates in the 40–45 age range.
