Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator with over 7 years of experience specializing in PostgreSQL administration, architecture, and high availability. In this role, you will build, manage, and troubleshoot PostgreSQL clusters using Patroni and distributed configuration stores, optimize database performance, handle data replication and migrations, and oversee backup, recovery, and connection pooling across containerized and Linux environments.
What will your role look like
- Build, configure, manage, and troubleshoot PostgreSQL clusters using Patroni and Distributed Configuration Stores like ETCD, Consul, or ZooKeeper.
- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and connection pooling using PgBouncer or pgpool.
- Configure and manage pgBackRest for backup and recovery operations and implement data replication using logical replication.
- Manage database monitoring, alerting tools, and system troubleshooting within Linux environments.
- Deploy and orchestrate databases on platforms like Kubernetes or Nomad, and develop operational documentation, runbooks, and SOPs.
- Execute database migrations and potentially visit the client location in Bangalore for 2-3 weeks after joining.

We would like you to bring along
- 7+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with a strong focus on PostgreSQL administration and architecture.
- Hands-on experience actually building, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting PostgreSQL clusters using Patroni.
- Proficiency with Distributed Configuration Stores (ETCD, Consul, ZooKeeper), pgBackRest, PgBouncer/pgpool, and logical replication.
- Strong Linux administration, troubleshooting skills, and experience with database monitoring and alerting tools.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or Nomad orchestration platforms and database migration experience.
- Optional experience with Jenkins, CI/CD, GitHub/GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Milvus DB, MongoDB, Clickhouse, and cloud deployments.
