The Cost Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of cost accounting and inventory management within our textile manufacturing operations. This role will involve analyzing production costs, identifying cost reduction opportunities, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of textile manufacturing processes, cost accounting principles, and experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cost Controller to join our finance team and contribute to our continued growth and profitability.
Section 4 : Principal Accountabilities / Responsibilities :
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation and reconciliation.
- Conduct periodic physical inventory counts and investigates discrepancies.
- Analyze inventory turnover and identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
- Implement and maintain effective inventory control procedures.
Product Costing & Analysis:
- Develop and maintain accurate standard costing systems for raw materials, labor, and overhead.
- Analyze production costs, including material consumption, labor efficiency, and overhead allocation.
- Prepare detailed cost variance analysis reports and identify root causes of deviations.
- Conduct regular cost audits and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce waste.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts related to production costs and inventory.
- Monitor actual costs against budget and provide variance analysis.
- Develop cost projections for new product development and process improvements.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve cost control processes and procedures.
- Implement and utilize cost accounting software and tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Analyze and improve the Bill of Materials(BOM) accuracy.
Textile Specifics:
- Understand the specific cost drivers within textile manufacturing, which include fabric costing , finishing processes, fabric waste , Packaging Material costing , cut and sew charges etc.
- Monitor and analyze raw material price fluctuations and their impact on production costs.
- Accounting and analyze shrinkage and waste within the textile process.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with Inter CA / CMA / CWA would be preferred.
5 plus years of experience in cost accounting or cost control, preferably in the textile manufacturing industry.
Experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Infor LN, Oracle based ERP , Quick Books) and any other procurement tools.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, procurement processes, Inventory movement and budgeting.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
High level of integrity and professionalism in managing sensitive financial data.
