Job Summary
We are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented Chemistry Lab Assistant to support the effective functioning of the Chemistry Laboratory for higher grades (Grades VIII–XII). The ideal candidate will assist teachers during practical sessions, maintain laboratory equipment and chemicals, and ensure a safe and organized laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Chemistry teachers in preparing the laboratory for practical sessions.
- Arrange and set up laboratory equipment, chemicals, and materials before experiments.
- Ensure all laboratory apparatus and instruments are clean, functional, and properly stored after use.
- Maintain inventory records of chemicals, glassware, laboratory equipment, and consumables.
- Label, store, and handle chemicals according to laboratory safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures and assist in maintaining a safe working environment.
- Dispose of chemical waste following approved safety guidelines.
- Report damaged equipment, shortages, and maintenance requirements to the concerned authority.
- Maintain laboratory registers, stock records, and equipment maintenance logs.
- Assist in conducting practical examinations and laboratory demonstrations.
- Coordinate the procurement of laboratory materials and ensure adequate stock availability.
- Support teachers and students during laboratory activities while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry (B.Sc. Chemistry) or a related Science discipline.
- Diploma or certification in Laboratory Technology is an added advantage.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience as a Chemistry Lab Assistant or in a science laboratory.
- Fresh graduates with relevant laboratory knowledge may also apply.
Skills & Competencies
- Good knowledge of Chemistry laboratory procedures and safety standards.
- Ability to handle laboratory chemicals and equipment responsibly.
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
- Basic computer knowledge for maintaining laboratory records.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining laboratory safety and cleanliness.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
