Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated Machine Shop Supervisor to oversee daily machine shop operations, ensure production targets are met, maintain quality standards, and coordinate with production and design teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily machine shop activities and manpower.
- Plan and allocate machining jobs to CNC, VMC, Milling, Lathe, and Drilling operators.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure on-time completion.
- Ensure components are manufactured according to engineering drawings and quality standards.
- Inspect finished components before sending them to assembly.
- Coordinate with Design, Production, Assembly, and Quality teams.
- Monitor machine utilization and minimize downtime.
- Maintain production records and daily reports.
- Ensure preventive maintenance of machines is carried out.
- Enforce 5S, safety practices, and company policies.
- Train and guide operators and helpers.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of CNC, VMC, Milling, Lathe, Surface Grinding, and Drilling operations.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, and Dial Gauge.
- Basic knowledge of machining processes and production planning.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
Qualification
- Diploma / ITI / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 0–5 years of experience in a machine shop, manufacturing, or SPM industry.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in SPM, Automation, or Precision Manufacturing.
- Knowledge of CNC programming basics is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with ISO quality standards and 5S practices.
