Job Role & Responsibilities
1. Procurement & Vendor Management
- Procure brass scrap, brass rods, copper, zinc, and other raw materials as per production requirements.
- Source and procure consumables, cutting tools, inserts, lubricants, packaging materials, and maintenance spares.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Obtain quotations, compare prices, negotiate rates, and finalize purchase orders.
- Identify and develop alternative suppliers to reduce procurement risks.
2. Purchase Order Management
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs).
- Follow up with suppliers for timely delivery.
- Track open purchase orders and pending materials.
- Ensure compliance with approved procurement procedures.
3. Inventory & Material Planning
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, and Stores departments for material requirements.
- Monitor stock levels and reorder materials as required.
- Avoid stock-outs and excess inventory.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels.
4. Cost Control
- Analyze market trends of brass, copper, zinc, and other metals.
- Negotiate favorable pricing and payment terms.
- Support cost reduction initiatives and annual savings targets.
- Compare vendor quotations and recommend the best value option.
5. Quality & Compliance
- Coordinate with Quality Department regarding supplier quality issues.
- Ensure purchased materials meet required specifications.
- Maintain vendor evaluation and performance records.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, customer, and company requirements.
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain purchase records, supplier quotations, contracts, and agreements.
- Update ERP/MIS systems with purchase transactions.
- Prepare monthly purchase reports, pending PO reports, and vendor performance reports.
- Maintain records for audits and management reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred for manufacturing industries.
Experience
- 3–5 years of procurement experience in Brass Parts Manufacturing, Engineering, Auto Components, or Metal Industries.
- Experience in ERP systems and purchase documentation.
Required Skills
- Vendor development and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of brass raw materials and engineering consumables.
- Purchase planning and inventory management.
- Cost analysis and price negotiation.
- ERP/MRP software knowledge.
- MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficiency.
- Communication and coordination skills.
Pay: ₹25,800.00 - ₹38,600.00 per month
