About the Role
We are seeking a talented and driven Digital Journalist to join our editorial team. The ideal candidate is passionate about news, has excellent writing and research skills, and understands how to create engaging content for digital audiences.
You will be responsible for researching, writing, and publishing high-quality news stories across our website and digital magazine while creating engaging content for our social media platforms. You'll cover a range of industries, including Technology, Automotive, Real Estate, and Travel, ensuring every story is accurate, timely, and engaging.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, write, and publish original news articles for our website and digital magazine.
- Cover breaking news, industry updates, and trending stories across Technology, Automotive, Real Estate, and Travel.
- Verify facts and gather information from credible sources.
- Produce well-structured, accurate, and engaging news stories under deadlines.
- Write SEO-friendly headlines, summaries, and metadata to improve search visibility.
- Create social media content, including captions, post copy, and short news updates for Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Threads, and other platforms.
- Monitor news trends, press releases, industry reports, and social media for story opportunities.
- Update published stories as new information becomes available.
- Collaborate with editors to ensure content meets editorial standards and publishing schedules.
- Maintain high standards of journalistic integrity, accuracy, and ethics.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in digital journalism, news writing, or online publishing.
- Excellent written English with strong grammar, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong research, analytical, and fact-checking abilities.
- Ability to write quickly without compromising accuracy or quality.
- Familiarity with SEO principles and digital publishing best practices.
- Understanding of current social media platforms and audience engagement.
- Ability to manage multiple stories and meet tight deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience writing for online news portals, magazines, or media organizations.
- Familiarity with WordPress or other Content Management Systems (CMS).
- Knowledge of AP Style or other recognized journalistic style guides.
- Experience using tools such as Google Trends, Google News, and analytics platforms.
- Portfolio of published news articles is highly preferred.
