Job Title: Network Engineer (L2 Support) – 2 Years Experience
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer with 2 years of experience in network troubleshooting and support. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in L2 troubleshooting, basic firewall management, and network monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform Level 2 (L2) network troubleshooting to identify and resolve connectivity and performance issues
Configure and manage Layer 3 switches, including VLANs, routing, and basic network optimization
Assist in bandwidth calculation and network capacity planning
Monitor network performance using standard network monitoring tools
Analyze network traffic and diagnose issues using Wireshark
Support firewall configurations and basic troubleshooting for:
Fortinet (FortiGate)
Sophos
Palo Alto Networks
Work closely with L1 and L3 teams to escalate and resolve complex network issues
Maintain documentation of network configurations, issues, and resolutions
Required Skills & Qualifications:
2 years of experience in network support or engineering roles
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
Hands-on experience in L2 troubleshooting
Basic knowledge of firewall technologies (FortiGate, Sophos, Palo Alto)
Experience configuring Layer 3 switches
Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios)
Proficiency in Wireshark for packet analysis
Understanding of bandwidth management and calculations
Good problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications such as CCNA or equivalent
Exposure to enterprise network environments
Basic understanding of security concepts
