About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and commercially astute Chartered Accountant to lead the Corporate Finance function of a reputed automobile dealership group. The General Manager – Corporate Finance will be responsible for financial planning, treasury, management reporting, profitability improvement, financial controls, compliance, and strategic financial decision-making across the group.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in automobile dealership finance, working capital management, banking, MIS, taxation, audit, and business finance, with the ability to work closely with the promoters and senior management.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Strategy
- Lead the overall corporate finance function and provide strategic financial insights to management.
- Prepare annual budgets, business plans, forecasts and financial projections.
- Monitor dealership-wise profitability, costs, margins and financial performance.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and improvement in operating margins.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations for major business decisions and investments.
Treasury & Working Capital
- Manage overall cash flow, liquidity and working capital requirements.
- Monitor vehicle inventory funding, floor-plan finance and working-capital facilities.
- Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, interest costs and financing arrangements.
- Ensure optimum utilisation of funds and minimise finance costs.
- Closely monitor receivables, payables, inventory and cash conversion cycles.
MIS & Management Reporting
- Develop and present comprehensive monthly MIS and management dashboards.
- Provide dealership/location/department-wise performance analysis.
- Monitor key financial and operational KPIs and highlight deviations.
- Develop meaningful financial metrics to support management decision-making.
Accounting, Audit & Compliance
- Oversee accounting operations and ensure accuracy and timely closure of books.
- Ensure compliance with GST, Income Tax, Companies Act and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Coordinate statutory, internal and tax audits.
- Strengthen internal financial controls and minimise financial and operational risks.
Business Finance & Controls
- Review major expenditures, capital investments and business proposals.
- Establish effective financial controls across dealerships and group companies.
- Monitor finance-related processes involving vehicle sales, service, spare parts, insurance, accessories and other dealership operations.
- Identify financial risks, leakages and control weaknesses and implement corrective measures.
Leadership
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounts team.
- Work closely with the Chairman/Managing Director/Promoters and other functional heads.
- Coordinate with Sales, Service, Parts, HR, Procurement and Operations teams on financial matters.
- Drive a culture of financial discipline, accountability and data-driven decision-making.
Candidate Profile
Mandatory Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) – mandatory.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- Strong experience in corporate finance, financial planning, treasury, MIS and management reporting.
- Strong knowledge of taxation, audit, accounting standards and statutory compliance.
- Excellent understanding of working capital and banking operations.
- Strong Excel and financial analysis skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in an automobile dealership group / automobile retail / automotive industry will be strongly preferred.
- Experience handling multiple dealerships, branches or group companies will be an advantage.
- Candidates with experience dealing with OEMs, banks and vehicle finance companies will be preferred.
