- Job Title: Oncology Shift Incharge / Clinical Nurse Supervisor
- Department: Pediatric and Women’s Oncology / Hematology-Oncology
- Reports To: Nursing Superintendent / Oncology Nurse Manager [1]
Key Responsibilities
- Shift Management: Oversee shift handovers, deploy nursing staff efficiently, and manage patient flow in the oncology ward.
- Clinical Supervision: Ensure safe administration of chemotherapy, biotherapy, and pain management protocols for children and women.
- Patient Safety: Monitor compliance with infection control and international patient safety goals, vital for immunocompromised cancer patients.
- Family Support: Address escalated clinical queries and provide grief or emotional support counselling to families.
- Interdisciplinary Coordination: Work closely with medical oncologists, pediatricians, and pharmacists during ward rounds. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: B.Sc. Nursing or M.Sc. Nursing.
- Certifications: Valid state nursing council registration, BLS/ACLS, and specialized pediatric or gynecological oncology certifications.
- Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 2 years in an oncology setting and prior supervisory or shift-handling experience. [1]
