Job Summary
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling all maintenance activities related to Injection Molding Machines, Auxiliary Equipment, Utilities, and Plant Infrastructure. The role ensures maximum machine availability, reduced downtime, optimum maintenance costs, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a plastic packaging manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Management
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance programs for Injection Molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Ensure maximum machine uptime and production efficiency through effective maintenance planning.
- Analyze recurring machine failures and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain maintenance records, history cards, and equipment performance reports.
- Monitor machine reliability and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Injection Molding Equipment Maintenance
- Oversee maintenance of Injection Molding Machines (Hydraulic, Hybrid, and Electric).
- Ensure smooth functioning of robots, conveyors, hot runner systems, mold temperature controllers, and material handling systems.
- Coordinate mold maintenance schedules with production and tooling teams.
- Troubleshoot issues related to hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
Utilities & Infrastructure
- Manage maintenance of utilities including:
- Air Compressors
- Chillers
- Cooling Towers
- DG Sets
- Electrical Panels
- Water Treatment Systems
- HVAC Systems (if applicable)
- Ensure uninterrupted utility supply to production operations.
Team Management
- Lead and supervise maintenance engineers, technicians, and utility operators.
- Allocate resources effectively and monitor team performance.
- Provide technical training and skill development to maintenance personnel.
- Promote a culture of safety, discipline, and continuous improvement.
Spare Parts & Inventory Control
- Manage critical spare parts inventory and procurement planning.
- Coordinate with purchase and vendors for timely availability of spares.
- Control maintenance costs through effective inventory management.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with electrical, mechanical, and workplace safety standards.
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments for maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, GMP, 5S, TPM, and company policies.
- Support environmental and statutory compliance requirements.
Continuous Improvement
- Implement TPM, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and Reliability Improvement initiatives.
- Monitor maintenance KPIs such as:
- Machine Uptime
- MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures)
- MTTR (Mean Time To Repair)
- Maintenance Cost per Machine
- Breakdown Frequency
- Drive energy-saving and cost-reduction projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Additional certifications in TPM, Maintenance Management, or Automation will be an advantage.
Experience
- 8–15 years of experience in maintenance within Plastic Packaging or Injection Molding manufacturing.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a leadership/managerial role.
- Hands-on experience with Injection Molding Machines such as those from Husky, Engel, Arburg, Milacron, or similar.
Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
