*Job Summary*
The OPD Coordinator is responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning of the Out Patient Department (OPD). The role involves patient coordination, appointment management, interdepartmental coordination, doctor scheduling support, billing coordination, documentation, HMS updates, and ensuring excellent patient experience from registration till consultation completion.
*Key Responsibilities*
*1. OPD Operations Management*
- Ensure smooth flow of patients in OPD.
- Coordinate registrations, appointments, and token management.
- Manage patient queues and minimize waiting time.
- Ensure proper allocation of patients to respective consultants/departments.
- Coordinate emergency walk-ins appropriately.
*2. Patient Coordination*
- Guide patients and attendants regarding consultation process.
- Handle patient inquiries professionally and politely.
- Assist patients with investigations, billing, pharmacy, admission process, etc.
- Coordinate follow-ups and revisit appointments.
- Ensure VIP/senior citizen/critical patients are attended on priority.
*3. Doctor Coordination*
- Coordinate daily OPD schedules of consultants.
- Inform departments regarding doctor availability or schedule changes.
- Ensure doctors receive patient files/reports on time.
- Coordinate between doctors and patients during delays or emergencies.
*4. HMS & Documentation*
- Ensure proper patient registration and HMS entries.
- Maintain accurate OPD records and reports.
- Verify completeness of patient documents, prescriptions, and reports.
- Ensure all consultation details are properly updated in the system.
*5. Billing & Financial Coordination*
- Coordinate with billing department for consultation billing.
- Ensure patients complete billing before consultation/procedures where applicable.
- Assist in package explanation and estimate coordination.
*6. Interdepartmental Coordination*
- Coordinate with Reception, Billing, Nursing, Lab, Radiology, Pharmacy, and IPD teams.
- Ensure smooth patient movement across departments.
*7. Patient Experience & Service Quality*
- Ensure positive patient experience throughout OPD visit.
- Handle complaints and escalate unresolved issues.
- Maintain cleanliness, discipline, and patient comfort in OPD areas.
- Ensure proper communication with patients and attendants.

*Qualification*
- Graduate preferred
- Hospital administration background preferred
