Role Summary
The Quantity Surveyor (QS) will be responsible for managing all costs related to building and construction projects, from initial estimates through to final accounts. The role involves ensuring projects are completed within budget while maintaining high quality and design intent.
Key Responsibilities Cost Planning & Estimation
- Prepare detailed cost estimates based on architectural drawings and specifications
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost planning for new projects
- Advise architects and clients on cost-effective design solutions
Tendering & Procurement
- Prepare tender documents, BOQs (Bills of Quantities), and bid analysis reports
- Evaluate contractor bids and assist in contractor selection
- Manage procurement processes and vendor negotiations
Project Cost Control
- Monitor project budgets and track expenditures throughout the project lifecycle
- Identify cost variations and recommend corrective actions
- Prepare periodic financial reports and cash flow forecasts
Contract Administration
- Draft and review contracts and agreements
- Manage variations, claims, and final accounts
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations
Site Coordination
- Visit project sites to verify progress and valuations
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors
- Ensure work aligns with approved budgets and specifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 2–5+ years of experience in construction or architectural firms
- Strong knowledge of BOQs, estimation, and contract management
- Familiarity with construction materials and methods

- Proficiency in estimation software and tools (e.g., Excel, AutoCAD)
