Sales & Business Development Intern
Job Description
We are looking for a proactive, confident and energetic Sales & Business Development Intern who will assist in client outreach, lead generation, market research and business acquisition activities.
This role involves a combination of office-based coordination, outbound calling, follow-ups, research and field visits. The candidate will be expected to communicate with potential clients, conduct cold walk-ins when required and assist the team in identifying and generating new business opportunities.
The intern will also accompany the Founder/CEO and the Head of Operations & Acquisitions for client meetings, business visits and outreach activities. This position is ideal for someone who is confident in communication, comfortable interacting with people and interested in gaining practical exposure in sales, business development and market acquisition.
The role also involves conducting in-depth research on potential industries, business categories, and market segments aligned with the company’s acquisition and expansion plans. The candidate should be comfortable researching businesses, understanding target markets and helping the team identify suitable sectors for outreach.
Work Details
- Work Type: Work from Office
- Working Days: Monday to Saturday
- Working Hours: 11:30 AM – 7:30 PM
- Location: Kolkata
- Stipend: ₹5,000 – ₹8,000 (In-hand)
Key Responsibilities
- Making outbound calls and following up with leads
- Assisting in lead generation and client acquisition activities
- Conducting cold walk-ins and field visits when required
- Accompanying senior team members for meetings and business visits
- Conducting in-depth research on potential industries, businesses and market segments aligned with the company’s acquisition plans
- Identifying and analysing potential client categories and outreach opportunities
- Researching market trends, competitor activities and target sectors
- Explaining company services to prospective clients
- Maintaining lead records and follow-up status
- Coordinating internally regarding client requirements and updates
- Assisting in setting up meetings and presentations
- Maintaining professional communication with potential clients
- Supporting day-to-day business development and outreach activities
Requirements
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence in speaking with clients and prospects
- Comfortable with phone calls, follow-ups and field visits
- Interest in sales, business development and market research
- Basic understanding of sales, marketing or client handling
- Basic knowledge of Google Sheets/Excel is a plus
- Ability to work in a disciplined and professional environment
- Responsible, punctual, organised and proactive in execution
- Prior sales, telecalling or business development experience is an added advantage but not mandatory
