Job Description – Facility Head (Factory Operations)
Position: Facility Head
Location: Avalahalli, Bangalore
Department: Administration / Facilities Management
Reporting To: Plant Head
Purpose of the Role
To oversee and manage all facility-related operations within the factory, ensuring a safe, clean, secure, and well-maintained working environment. The role is responsible for Housekeeping, Security, and Maintenance functions, ensuring compliance with company standards, statutory requirements, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Housekeeping Management
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the factory premises, offices, common areas, and utilities.
- Manage housekeeping staff and contractors, including deployment, performance monitoring, and training.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain housekeeping standards.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental requirements.
2. Security Management
- Oversee all security operations including access control, visitor management, surveillance systems, and perimeter security.
- Manage security personnel and agencies to ensure effective security coverage.
- Investigate security incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to company security policies and emergency response procedures.
- Coordinate with local authorities when required.
3. Maintenance Management
- Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance of factory infrastructure, buildings, utilities, and facilities.
- Monitor the upkeep of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, firefighting, and other facility systems.
- Develop maintenance schedules and ensure timely execution.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for maintenance activities.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and asset management.
4. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations related to facility management, safety, fire, and environmental requirements.
- Support EHS initiatives and conduct periodic facility risk assessments.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness drills and facility-related audits.
5. Vendor & Budget Management
- Manage contracts and service providers for housekeeping, security, and maintenance services.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure SLA compliance.
- Prepare and control departmental budgets, cost optimization initiatives, and expenditure tracking.
6. Team Management
- Lead and develop the facility management team.
- Establish performance objectives and conduct regular reviews.
- Promote a culture of safety, discipline, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Facilities Management, Administration, or a related field.
- 8–15 years of experience in facility management, preferably in a manufacturing or factory environment.
- Strong experience in managing Housekeeping, Security, and Maintenance functions.
- Knowledge of statutory compliance, safety regulations, and vendor management.
