Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the laboratory.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and reliable reporting of laboratory test results.
- Monitor the quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) programs.
- Ensure proper collection, handling, processing, and storage of laboratory specimens.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and coordinate preventive maintenance and calibration.
- Ensure adequate availability of laboratory reagents, consumables, and inventory.
- Prepare staff duty rosters and monitor attendance and performance.
- Train, guide, and evaluate laboratory technicians and support staff.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, biomedical waste management, and laboratory safety standards.
- Maintain laboratory records, registers, and documentation accurately.
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing departments, and other hospital units for smooth laboratory services.
- Handle internal and external quality audits.
- Ensure compliance with NABH and other applicable regulatory standards.
- Investigate and resolve laboratory-related complaints promptly.
- Prepare monthly reports on laboratory activities, workload, and quality indicators.
- Participate in departmental meetings and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the hospital management.
Educational Qualification:
- B.Sc. MLT / DMLT with relevant experience.
- M.Sc. MLT preferred.
- Registration with the appropriate authority (if applicable).
Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years of laboratory experience.
- At least 1–2 years in a supervisory or in-charge role is preferred.
Required Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of laboratory quality standards and NABH requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage laboratory operations efficiently.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Computer proficiency and knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time hospital duty.
- May require rotational shifts, weekends, and emergency/on-call support as per hospital policy.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
