Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated U.S. 1040 Tax Preparer to assist in the preparation of federal and state individual income tax returns. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in U.S. personal tax compliance, a strong grasp of Forms 1040, 1041 and related schedules, and the ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and efficiency. This role is critical to supporting a growing tax practice and delivering high-quality service to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare U.S. federal and state individual income tax returns (Form 1040) for high-net worth individuals, business owners, and expatriates
- Complete supporting forms and schedules (e.g., Schedules A, B, C, D, E, 1116, 2555, 8938, FBAR/FinCEN 114, etc.)
- Review tax documentation provided by clients and organize workpapers
- Perform basic tax research and apply appropriate tax treatments
- Ensure returns comply with IRS regulations and client-specific instructions
- Collaborate with seniors and managers for review and feedback
- Meet internal deadlines and productivity targets during peak tax season
- Maintain data confidentiality and ensure quality control
- Use tax software such as CCH Axcess, UltraTax, ProSystem fx, or similar
Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of experience in U.S. Individual Tax return preparation (Form 1040)
- Familiarity with IRS forms and instructions relevant to personal taxation
- Working knowledge of U.S. tax software tools (Sure Prep, Ultra Tax, CCH, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a Big 4, mid-sized CPA firm, or offshore delivery center supporting U.S. clients
- Knowledge of international tax disclosures (Form 8938, 1116, 2555, etc.)
- Exposure to U.S. expat tax, state tax differences, and foreign income reporting
Work Schedule & Compensation:
- Full-time
- Shift timing 3PM to 12AM
