About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Operations Executive Intern to support our day-to-day business and operational activities.
The intern will work closely with the Operations, Sales, Purchase, Production, Stores, Quality, and Finance teams to understand and support various business processes. This role provides practical exposure to order execution, production coordination, procurement, inventory, documentation, MIS reporting, and process improvement in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate should be willing to learn, have good analytical and communication skills, and be comfortable working with multiple teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Order & Operations Coordination
Assist in tracking customer orders from order receipt through manufacturing and dispatch.
Coordinate with internal departments to monitor order execution and delivery schedules.
Maintain order status trackers and highlight delays or pending actions.
Follow up with relevant teams for timely completion of activities.
Assist in preparing daily/weekly operations reports.
2. Production & Planning Support
Assist the production team in monitoring manufacturing schedules.
Track production progress against planned delivery dates.
Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Stores, and Quality teams for material availability and order completion.
Identify potential delays and escalate them to the concerned team.
3. Purchase & Vendor Coordination
Assist in preparing and tracking purchase requirements.
Follow up with vendors regarding quotations, purchase orders, material delivery, and pending supplies.
Maintain vendor-related records and trackers.
Compare purchase data and support basic cost analysis.
4. Inventory & Stores
Assist in monitoring inventory levels and material availability.
Support stock reconciliation and inventory tracking.
Coordinate with Stores and Purchase teams for material requirements.
Help maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing materials.
5. MIS & Data Analysis
Prepare regular MIS reports, dashboards, and management reports.
Maintain operational data in Excel/Google Sheets or relevant ERP systems.
Analyze basic operational data to identify delays, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
Track key operational KPIs such as order status, delivery performance, purchase status, inventory, and pending activities.
6. Documentation & Process Management
Maintain proper operational records and documentation.
Assist in preparing and organizing work orders, purchase documents, delivery documents, inspection records, and other operational records.
Support the development and updating of SOPs, checklists, and process documentation.
7. Process Improvement
Study existing operational processes and identify areas for improvement.
Assist in implementing process improvements to improve efficiency, reduce delays, and improve coordination.
Participate in internal process-review meetings and prepare action-point trackers.
Skills & Competencies
Required
Currently pursuing Post Graduation, preferably MBA/PGDM in Operations, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related specialization.
Good knowledge of MS Excel / Google Sheets.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Good attention to detail.
Ability to work with multiple teams and follow up on pending activities.
Willingness to learn about manufacturing and business operations.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Preferred
Basic knowledge of ERP systems.
Knowledge of supply chain, procurement, inventory, or production planning.
Familiarity with Excel functions such as VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, filters, and basic dashboards.
Previous academic/project experience in operations, supply chain, or manufacturing will be an advantage.
