Role Overview
The Senior Social Media Manager is responsible for leading the social media strategy and execution for assigned brands, ensuring that all content is strategically aligned with the brand’s objectives, creatively strong, and delivered on time. The role involves managing client relationships, guiding the SMM team, overseeing content calendars and campaigns, and using performance insights to continuously improve the brand’s social media presence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Social Media Strategy
- Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies aligned with each brand’s objectives, audience, and positioning.
- Identify content pillars, formats, trends, and opportunities relevant to each brand.
- Translate brand objectives into actionable monthly content plans and campaigns.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the social media strategy based on performance and changing trends.
2. Content Planning & Execution
- Own the monthly content calendar and ensure timely planning, execution, and publishing.
- Lead brainstorming and ideation for Reels, carousels, static posts, Stories, campaigns, and other social formats.
- Ensure content is platform-appropriate, relevant, engaging, and aligned with the brand voice.
- Review and approve content decks, captions, references, and creative concepts before they move to production/client approval.
- Ensure content is delivered within agreed timelines and follows the required quality standards.
3. Client Management
- Act as a key point of contact for assigned clients and maintain strong working relationships.
- Lead client calls and presentations when required.
- Understand client expectations, business objectives, and feedback and translate them into actionable tasks for the team.
- Proactively communicate delays, challenges, opportunities, and recommendations.
- Manage client feedback effectively and ensure revisions are addressed within timelines.
4. Team Management & Mentoring
- Guide and mentor Social Media Managers and junior team members.
- Review the team's work and provide constructive feedback to improve quality and strategic thinking.
- Ensure team members have clear ownership, priorities, and deadlines.
- Monitor team performance and identify areas where additional support or training is required.
- Encourage better processes, accountability, and collaboration across creative, editing, design, and social teams.
5. Performance & Analytics
- Track and analyse monthly social media performance across assigned accounts.
- Review key metrics such as reach, engagement, views, follower growth, saves, shares, and other relevant KPIs.
- Identify what is working, what isn't, and recommend actionable improvements.
- Prepare and/or oversee monthly performance reports and presentations for clients.
- Use insights from analytics to influence future content strategy.
6. Trend & Competitor Research
- Stay updated on Instagram, YouTube, and other relevant platform trends, features, formats, and algorithms.
- Identify relevant trends and determine how they can be adapted meaningfully for clients.
- Conduct competitor and category research to identify content gaps and opportunities.
- Encourage the team to move beyond trend-following and develop original, brand-relevant ideas.
7. Campaign & Shoot Management
- Conceptualise and oversee social media campaigns for clients.
- Participate in shoot planning and ensure shoot requirements are aligned with the content strategy.
- Work closely with production, designers, editors, and photographers to ensure content requirements are clearly communicated.
- Ensure shoot deliverables are sufficient to meet the month's content requirements.
8. Operations & Accountability
- Maintain clear timelines and ensure all deliverables are completed within deadlines.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth movement of work from ideation → production → editing/design → client approval → publishing.
- Ensure content calendars, decks, references, feedback, and approvals are properly documented.
- Proactively flag potential bottlenecks instead of waiting for deadlines to be missed.
- Maintain high standards of organisation and documentation across accounts.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
