Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Setter & Programmer with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in CNC machining. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines while ensuring quality, productivity, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs for machining components.
- Set up CNC Turning and/or VMC/HMC machines as per production requirements.
- Select and install cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding devices.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and process sheets.
- Perform first-piece inspection and ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Optimize cycle times and improve machining efficiency.
- Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot machining issues.
- Conduct tool offset adjustments and machine parameter settings.
- Ensure production meets quality standards and customer specifications.
- Maintain 5S practices and follow all safety procedures.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to achieve production targets.
- Train and support CNC operators when required.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming (Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or equivalent controls).
- Experience in CNC Turning Centers and/or Vertical Machining Centers (VMC).
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, tooling selection, feeds, and speeds.
- Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
- Ability to troubleshoot machining and tooling problems.
- Understanding of machining processes, tolerances, and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a CNC Setter & Programmer.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Edgecam, SolidCAM, or similar).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
- Experience in automotive, aerospace, or precision engineering industries.
