Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ nutritional needs through medical history, lab reports, and dietary analysis
- Develop personalized nutrition and meal plans based on medical conditions
- Provide medical nutrition therapy for conditions such as:
- Diabetes
- Kidney disease
- Cardiovascular disorders
- Obesity
- Gastrointestinal disorders
- Malnutrition
- Monitor and document patients’ progress and modify diet plans accordingly
- Educate patients and families about healthy eating habits and therapeutic diets
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare staff
- Ensure compliance with hospital nutrition standards and food safety regulations
- Participate in multidisciplinary patient care meetings
- Maintain accurate patient records and nutrition documentation
- Conduct nutrition screening and risk assessments
- Stay updated with current nutrition research and clinical guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, or related field
- Master’s degree may be preferred in some organizations
- Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist certification as required by local regulations
- Clinical internship or hospital experience preferred
