Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Genset Service Manager to lead and manage the complete service and maintenance operations for Diesel Generator (DG) Sets. The candidate will be responsible for service team management, customer support, breakdown handling, preventive maintenance, technical troubleshooting, and ensuring timely closure of service calls.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete Genset/DG Set service and maintenance operations.
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate a team of Service Engineers and Technicians.
- Plan and allocate daily service calls, breakdown calls, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Monitor service team performance and ensure timely closure of customer complaints.
- Handle major electrical, mechanical, and engine-related breakdowns.
- Provide technical guidance to engineers and technicians for complex DG issues.
- Oversee installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of DG Sets.
- Ensure timely execution of AMC and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Conduct site visits for critical breakdowns and customer escalations when required.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with customers regarding service schedules, breakdowns, AMC requirements, and technical concerns.
- Prepare and monitor service reports, job cards, maintenance records, and performance reports.
- Monitor spare parts requirements and coordinate with the stores/procurement team.
- Ensure availability and proper utilization of service tools, equipment, and spare parts.
- Monitor service costs, manpower utilization, and operational expenses.
- Coordinate with the Sales team for AMC renewals, service requirements, and new business opportunities.
- Support the sales team with technical inputs, site surveys, and service-related quotations when required.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, safety standards, and service quality procedures.
- Track recurring technical issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct technical training and guidance sessions for service engineers and technicians.
- Prepare regular MIS and service performance reports for management.
- Ensure timely submission of service documentation, reports, and customer feedback.
- Handle customer escalations and resolve technical/service-related issues effectively.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Diesel Generator Sets/Gensets.
- Good understanding of diesel engines, alternators, control panels, AMF/ATS panels, batteries, and electrical systems.
- Strong troubleshooting knowledge of mechanical and electrical DG faults.
- Knowledge of DG installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and breakdown maintenance.
- Ability to read and understand electrical wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of DG load testing and performance monitoring.
- Good knowledge of service documentation and maintenance procedures.

Qualification
Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical, Mechanical, Automobile, or related engineering discipline.
Experience
5–10 years of relevant experience in Genset/DG Set service and maintenance, including 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial rol
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹38,000.00 per month
