Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical & Engineering Leadership
- Lead the technical department for railway bridge and structural steel fabrication projects.
- Review and approve fabrication drawings, GA drawings, shop drawings, and erection drawings.
- Coordinate with design consultants, clients, RDSO, RVNL, DFCCIL, Railways, and EPC contractors for technical approvals.
- Resolve technical queries (TQs), design clarifications, and site engineering issues.
Welding & Fabrication Engineering
- Review and approve WPS, PQR, WPQ, and weld maps.
- Ensure compliance with welding procedures, IS codes, AWS D1.1, and RDSO specifications.
- Provide technical guidance on fabrication methodology, fit-up, welding sequence, distortion control, and assembly.
Quality & Documentation
- Review QAP, ITP, method statements, and inspection procedures.
- Support QA/QC team during client and third-party inspections.
- Ensure complete technical documentation before dispatch.
Project Technical Coordination
- Coordinate with Production, PMG, Purchase, Quality, and Site teams.
- Review BOM, nesting plans, material utilization, and production sequencing.
- Monitor technical progress and resolve engineering bottlenecks.
Standards & Compliance
Ensure compliance with:
- RDSO specifications.
- IRS Bridge Code.
- IS 2062, IS 800, IS 816, IS 9595.
- ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Client-specific technical specifications.
Required Qualifications
Education
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Production, or Metallurgical Engineering.
- M.Tech in Structural/Welding Engineering is an added advantage.
Experience Required
- 10–18 years in heavy steel fabrication, railway bridges, or structural steel projects.
- Experience in fabrication of Plate Girders, Web Girders, Steel Trusses, Foot Over Bridges, Composite Bridges, Industrial Structures, or Transmission Structures.
- Experience handling RDSO/RVNL/DFCCIL/NHAI/Metro or similar infrastructure projects preferred.
Technical Skills (Must Have)
- Railway bridge fabrication.
- Fabrication drawings and shop drawings.
- WPS / PQR / WPQ.
- QAP / ITP preparation and review.
- Welding engineering and weld inspection.
- Material traceability and MTC verification.
- NDT coordination (UT, MPI, DPT, RT).
- AutoCAD drawing review.
- MS Excel and technical documentation.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Technical Engineers, QA/QC Engineers, and Draftsmen.
- Conduct technical review meetings with production and project teams.
- Mentor engineers on welding, quality, and fabrication standards.
- Drive continuous improvement in fabrication quality and productivity.
Ideal Candidate Profile

- Strong experience in RDSO-approved fabrication units.
- Hands-on exposure to railway bridge fabrication and inspections.
- Excellent understanding of fabrication processes from raw material to dispatch.
- Ability to coordinate with clients, consultants, and inspection agencies.
- Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
Salary Range
₹12–22 LPA (CTC) depending on experience, technical expertise, and project exposure.
