The Maintenance Deputy. Mgr. will be responsible for leading and overseeing all maintenance operations within the automotive manufacturing facility. This role includes developing maintenance strategies, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of equipment, and managing the maintenance team to maintain optimal production levels.
SECTION III: DO – KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE
- Lead the maintenance team, providing coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the maintenance department.
Maintenance Strategy Development
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Establish maintenance policies and procedures to enhance productivity and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Monitor equipment performance and conduct root cause analysis on failures to implement corrective actions.
- Manage the repair and maintenance of machinery, tools, and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Oversee the maintenance budget, controlling expenses related to parts, labor, and contracted services.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining high-quality maintenance standards.
Collaboration, Compliance & Safety
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., production, engineering) to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize production interruptions.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards within maintenance operations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure workplace safety and adherence to maintenance practices.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare and present maintenance reports, metrics, and key performance indicators to management.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies for enhanced maintenance processes and equipment reliability.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery, and maintenance best practices.
Proven experience in budgeting and cost management.
