We are looking for a highly experienced and technically strong Architect / Tech Lead to lead technical assessments, architecture reviews, and backend service design for a complex, large-scale backend platform. The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in modern backend architectures, distributed systems, and scalable cloud-native technologies.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead technical assessments and architecture discussions for enterprise-grade backend systems
· Drive system design reviews and provide scalable architectural solutions
· Design and oversee backend services using modern cloud-native approaches
· Define and maintain API standards, contracts, and schema validation practices
· Create Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and formal technical documentation
· Lead and facilitate cross-team architecture reviews and technical governance
· Collaborate closely with engineering, DevOps, and product teams to ensure high-quality solution delivery
· Guide engineering teams on best practices related to scalability, reliability, observability, and performance
Must Have Skills
Technical Expertise
· Strong hands-on experience in Python with FastAPI
· Deep understanding of modern Kubernetes-based architecture
· Experience building and managing event-driven systems using:
o NATS
o Kafka
o or equivalent messaging/event-streaming platforms
API & System Design
· Strong expertise in:
o OpenAPI 3.x
o REST API versioning
o Schema validation
· Experience designing scalable and maintainable backend architectures
Leadership & Documentation
· Proven experience creating:
o Architecture Decision Records (ADRs)
o Formal design and architecture documentation
· Strong track record of leading:
o Cross-team architecture reviews
o Technical governance initiatives
Good to Have
· Familiarity with:
o Probabilistic ML systems
o Scientific computing environments
· Exposure to high-performance distributed computing systems
