Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Purchase Executive to manage procurement activities for our Iron & Steel manufacturing unit. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, vendor management, purchase planning, and ensuring timely availability of raw materials, consumables, and plant requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Handle end-to-end procurement and purchasing activities.
- Source raw materials, consumables, spare parts, and plant requirements.
- Identify and develop new vendors and suppliers.
- Obtain quotations and negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare Purchase Orders (POs) and maintain purchase records.
- Coordinate with stores, production, and accounts departments.
- Ensure timely procurement to avoid production disruptions.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate material requirements.
- Follow up with vendors regarding deliveries and pending orders.
- Maintain vendor databases and supplier performance records.
- Verify purchase invoices and coordinate with accounts for payment processing.
- Prepare purchase MIS reports and procurement-related documentation.
- Ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of procurement and purchase processes
- Vendor management and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of raw materials, consumables, and industrial spares
- Good understanding of inventory and supply chain coordination
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP software
- Strong communication and coordination skills
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Experience in Iron & Steel / Manufacturing Industry preferred
- Experience in procurement of plant materials, spares, and consumables
- Graduate / MBA (Supply Chain, Operations, or related field) preferred
- Knowledge of ERP systems will be an added advantage
- Immediate joiners preferred
