- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) to ensure efficient processing and segregation of recyclable materials.
- Monitor material receipt, sorting, baling, storage and dispatch activities to maximize operational efficiency and material recovery rates.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards and company operating procedures across the facility.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of operators, sorters, machine handlers and contract workforce.
- Conduct regular visits to communities and bulk waste generators to assess segregation practices and provide guidance for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of inbound and outbound material quantities, inventory levels and operational performance metrics.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure recovered materials meet required specifications and customer standards.
- Optimize manpower, equipment utilization and workflow processes to improve productivity and reduce operational costs.
- Coordinate with sourcing, procurement, logistics and sales teams to ensure seamless material flow and timely dispatches.
- Analyse operational data and prepare periodic reports on production, recovery rates, quality performance and operational costs.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve facility performance and efficiency.
- Ensure proper housekeeping, waste management and workplace organization practices within the facility.
- Support the implementation of sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement programs to enhance material recovery and resource efficiency.
- Conduct training programs for facility staff on operational procedures, safety practices, quality standards and equipment handling.
- Manage vendor and service provider activities related to facility operations, maintenance and logistics support.
- Build strong relationships with Resident Welfare Associations, communities, institutions, commercial establishments and bulk waste generators. to promote responsible waste management practices.
- Plan and execute awareness campaigns, workshops, training programs and recycling drives activities to improve source segregation and recycling participation.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to develop educational materials, presentations, and promotional campaigns.
Qualification – Graduate/Post Graduate
Experience – 3+ years of experience in the waste management field.
