Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Film Editing Faculty member to teach, mentor, and guide students across Foundation, Bachelor's, Master's, and Certificate programs in Film and Media. The ideal candidate should possess strong industry experience in film editing, a deep understanding of digital cinema theory, and proficiency in industry-standard post-production software.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Academic Delivery
- Teach Film Editing, Digital Cinema Theory, and editing aesthetics to Foundation, Bachelor's, Master's, and Certificate course students.
- Deliver practical and theoretical instruction using engaging and industry-relevant teaching methodologies.
- Conduct classes in both offline and online learning environments when required.
- Develop lesson plans, course materials, assignments, and assessments aligned with university guidelines.
Student Mentorship
- Mentor students in editing techniques, storytelling, and post-production workflows.
- Guide students through short films, professional projects, graduation films, and portfolio development.
- Support students in developing industry-ready editing skills and professional practices.
Curriculum Development & Academic Administration
- Contribute to curriculum design, review, and enhancement in collaboration with faculty and management.
- Assist in academic planning, scheduling, departmental coordination, and other administrative responsibilities.
- Foster an interactive, ethical, and collaborative learning environment.
Content Creation & Institutional Projects
- Edit and manage content for social media promotions, e-learning modules, masterclasses, workshops, and other institutional initiatives.
- Support the creation of promotional and educational content for the college.
- Guide students in producing digital and social media content as part of academic projects.
Basic QualificationsEducational Background
- Degree, Diploma, or Certification in Film Editing, Video Editing, Visual Communication, or a related field from a recognized university or institute.
- Specialized training in Film Editing or Post-Production is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of film and digital post-production workflows.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software, including:
- AVID Media Composer
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Adobe After Effects
- Adobe Photoshop
- DaVinci Resolve
- Familiarity with content creation and editing for digital media, online platforms, multicam productions, and emerging media formats.
Experience
- 9–12 years of professional experience in Film Editing or Post-Production.
- Experience working on mainstream film, television, OTT, or digital media projects.
- Participation in at least 3–4 professional film or media productions is preferred.
Desired Skills & Attributes
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to explain editing concepts, workflows, and filmmaking terminology effectively.
- Strong mentoring and student engagement capabilities.
- Experience in guiding live projects, short films, and digital content production.
- Passion for cinema, storytelling, and media education.
- Knowledge of Indian Cinema, Media, and Entertainment industries will be an added advantage.
Industry Background Preferred
Candidates from Film Production Houses, Media Organizations, Television Channels, OTT Platforms, Post-Production Studios, or related sectors are encouraged to apply.
