Job Title: OT Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced OT Technician to manage and assist in surgical procedures while ensuring high standards of sterility, patient safety, and OT efficiency. The candidate should have hands-on experience in handling surgical instruments, OT equipment, and supporting multi-specialty surgeries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up the Operation Theatre for various surgical procedures.
- Ensure all surgical instruments, consumables, and equipment are sterilized and ready before surgery.
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during procedures.
- Operate and monitor OT equipment such as anesthesia machines, cardiac monitors, suction apparatus, cautery machines, etc.
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
- Assist in patient positioning, shifting, and post-operative transfer.
- Supervise junior OT technicians and support staff when required.
- Ensure proper documentation of OT records and inventory management.
- Coordinate with CSSD for instrument sterilization and supply management.
- Handle emergency cases efficiently and calmly.
- Ensure compliance with hospital safety and biomedical waste management protocols.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Diploma / Degree in Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 6 months -1 years of experience in a hospital OT (multi-specialty preferred).
- Experience in handling major and minor surgical cases.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and sterilization processes.
Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of OT protocols and infection control
- Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations
- Leadership and team coordination skills
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail and high level of responsibility
Work Conditions:
- On-call availability for emergency surgeries
- Hospital / Surgical Center
- Rotational shifts including weekends, and emergencies
