FURNITURE DESIGNER — 2D SPECIALIST

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Furniture Designer – 2D Specialist to join our creative team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing precise technical drawings, detailed floor plans, and production-ready 2D documentation that bridges the gap between concept and manufacturing. You will collaborate closely with product designers, project managers, and production teams to ensure every piece meets both aesthetic and functional standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create accurate 2D technical drawings, plans, elevations, and details for residential and commercial furniture pieces
- Develop production-ready documentation including cut lists, dimensions, joinery details, and material callouts
- Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ) detailing materials, hardware, finishes, and components required for each furniture piece or project
- Collaborate with senior designers to translate 3D concepts and client briefs into precise 2D working drawings
- Prepare furniture layout plans and space planning documents for client presentations and project proposals
- Maintain and organize drawing libraries, templates, and file management systems
- Revise and update drawings based on feedback from design, engineering, and production teams
- Ensure all technical drawings comply with company standards, manufacturing tolerances, and relevant building codes
- Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for each project, listing all materials, components, hardware, and finishes required for accurate costing and procurement
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to clarify specifications and resolve technical queries
- Support the design team with mood boards, finish schedules, and 2D presentation visuals as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years of professional experience in furniture design, interior design, or a closely related field
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with additional tools such as Adobe Illustrator or SketchUp is a plus
- Strong understanding of furniture construction methods, materials, joinery, and manufacturing processes
- Ability to read and produce detailed technical drawings with a high degree of accuracy
- Solid knowledge of standard drawing conventions, scale, and dimensioning practices
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing clean, well-organized documentation
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across design and production teams
- Degree or diploma in Furniture Design, Interior Design, Industrial Design, or a related discipline
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with parametric or furniture-specific design software (e.g., Cabinet Vision, Mozaik, or similar)
- Familiarity with sustainable materials and eco-friendly manufacturing practices
- Background in custom or bespoke furniture design for high-end residential or hospitality projects
- Experience preparing shop drawings for in-house or third-party fabrication

Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
