Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Draughtsman with hands-on experience in the Oil & Gas industry to prepare accurate mechanical engineering drawings, layouts, fabrication drawings, and detailed drawings as per project specifications, applicable codes, and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed Mechanical Equipment drawings including GA, fabrication, assembly, and detail drawings.
- Prepare drawings for static and rotating equipment, tanks, vessels, pumps, compressors, skids, and related mechanical systems.
- Develop General Arrangement (GA), sectional, fabrication, and installation drawings.
- Prepare equipment layouts and mechanical arrangement drawings based on engineering inputs.
- Convert engineering sketches, mark-ups, and design calculations into detailed CAD drawings.
- Revise drawings based on comments from engineers, clients, and third-party consultants.
- Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, applicable ASME, API, and other relevant standards.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Piping, Civil, Structural, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams.
- Maintain proper drawing numbering, revision control, and document standards.
- Check drawings for accuracy, dimensions, materials, tolerances, and completeness before submission.
- Prepare MTO/BOM where required.
- Support engineers during design development, fabrication, and construction stages.
- Maintain drawing records and ensure timely submission of deliverables.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and mechanical drafting.
- Good understanding of mechanical equipment and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of Oil & Gas engineering practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Knowledge of ASME/API standards will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of dimensions, tolerances, sections, elevations, and fabrication details.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with engineering teams.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
Educational Qualification
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical Drafting.
- Relevant certification in CAD drafting will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in Mechanical Drafting.
- Candidates with experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, Engineering Consultancy, Petrochemical, Refinery, or Process Plant projects will be preferred.
