Qualification
- B.Tech/B.E. (Electrical, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics) or Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
- Freshers are welcome
- Knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office
- Basic understanding of electrical components is preferred
Job Summary
The Purchase Engineer will assist in sourcing electrical components, obtaining quotations, comparing prices, issuing purchase orders, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely material delivery for electrical panel manufacturing.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement
- Receive material requisitions from the Design and Estimation teams.
- Identify suitable vendors for electrical and mechanical items.
- Request quotations from multiple suppliers.
- Prepare comparative statements (price, delivery, payment terms).
- Assist in vendor negotiations under senior guidance.
- Generate Purchase Orders (POs).
- Follow up with suppliers for order confirmation.
Vendor Management
- Maintain vendor database.
- Develop relationships with new suppliers.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, pricing, and delivery.
- Collect catalogues, technical datasheets, and price lists.
Material Coordination
- Coordinate with Stores regarding material availability.
- Track delivery schedules.
- Resolve delays with suppliers.
- Ensure urgent materials are delivered on priority.
Documentation
- Maintain purchase records and PO files.
- Update purchase registers and Excel sheets.
- Verify supplier invoices with Purchase Orders.
- Maintain documentation for audits.
Cost Control
- Compare prices from multiple vendors.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Monitor market price trends of electrical components.
