Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Plant & Equipment Operations

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to oversee the operations, maintenance, and optimization of machinery used in road construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up efficient systems, improving equipment utilization, reducing operating costs, and ensuring all machinery operates at maximum efficiency. The candidate should also be capable of implementing streamlined processes through ERP and generating accurate daily operational reports.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement systems and SOPs to streamline plant and equipment operations.
* Ensure maximum utilization of construction machinery and minimize equipment downtime.
* Monitor and optimize the performance of road construction equipment such as asphalt plants, concrete batching plants, pavers, rollers, excavators, loaders, motor graders, and crushers.
* Identify opportunities to reduce fuel consumption, maintenance expenses, and overall operating costs.
* Plan and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
* Coordinate with site teams to ensure machinery availability as per project requirements.
* Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance records through the ERP system.
* Ensure accurate daily updates in the ERP regarding equipment usage, maintenance, breakdowns, fuel consumption, and productivity.
* Prepare and submit daily reports covering machine utilization, equipment downtime, maintenance status, fuel consumption, and project equipment performance.
* Analyze equipment efficiency and recommend improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.
* Ensure compliance with all safety standards and equipment maintenance procedures.
* Work closely with project managers, procurement, and operations teams to improve overall operational efficiency.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* 3–8 years of experience in road construction, infrastructure, mining, or heavy equipment operations.
* Strong knowledge of heavy construction machinery maintenance and utilization.
* Experience with ERP software for equipment and maintenance management.
* Good understanding of preventive maintenance, fleet management, and cost control.
* Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting.
Preferred Skills
* Experience with asphalt plants, WMM plants, crushers, and heavy earthmoving equipment.
* Knowledge of fleet management, fuel efficiency optimization, and equipment lifecycle management.
* Experience implementing SOPs and improving operational processes.
* Familiarity with Lean practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
