Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced VMC Setter cum Operator to join our machining team. The candidate should have hands-on experience in setting, operating, and troubleshooting Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machines for production of precision components as per drawing specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate VMC machines independently.
- Perform tool setting, job setting, and offset corrections.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and measuring instruments.
- Load and unload raw materials/components safely.
- Monitor machining operations and ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Conduct first-piece inspection and in-process quality checks.
- Optimize cycle time and maintain production targets.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
- Identify machining issues and coordinate with maintenance/programming teams.
- Maintain proper documentation of production and inspection records.
- Follow safety and quality procedures at all times.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of VMC machine setting and operation.
- Experience with Fanuc controllers preferred.
- Ability to use measuring instruments such as Vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, bore gauge, etc.
- Understanding of tooling, inserts, fixtures, and machining parameters.
- Basic knowledge of CNC programming/editing is an added advantage.
- Ability to work in shifts and handle production targets.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or any related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as VMC Setter cum Operator.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in precision machining or automotive components.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: 30,000 - 35,000 (based on experience)
