Role Description: The Freelance Video Editor role at Chesskidoo Academy is a hybrid position based in Erode, with the flexibility to complete some tasks from home. On a day-to-day basis, the intern will edit educational and promotional video content, align visuals with the academy’s gold-white-black brand identity, and prepare engaging clips for social media and learning platforms. Responsibilities include organizing raw footage, adding transitions and effects, basic sound syncing, and collaborating with the creative team to tell clear, kid-friendly stories. The intern will support the production of content for chess lessons, events, workshops, and leadership programs, while meeting agreed timelines and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Ability to handle core video tasks, including video editing and video production.
- Skills in enhancing visual quality, such as video color grading.
- Competence in creating visual elements, including motion graphics and graphics.
- Basic understanding of storytelling, pacing, and visual composition for educational and promotional content.
- Familiarity with common editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
- Strong attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to follow brand guidelines and feedback.
- Good communication skills and willingness to collaborate with instructors and the creative team.
- Interest in chess, education, or working with youth-oriented content is an advantage.
- Portfolio or sample work demonstrating video editing projects, even academic or personal, is highly desirable.
